So, we got a new roommate last weekend, and as he was moving, he went through some of his old stuff, and I got a big pile of things to cut up and make into something else!  Grin These wonderful striped pillowcases were in the pile, and as we had an unsually long and cold winter here, I was very excited about anything that said warmer weather to me, so I made myself a new bag!

This is also a bag of many firsts... I have used the pattern before, but I have never attempted to match stripes, nor have I ever tried to do inside pockets! I am very excited about the results, it's not perfect, but it's darn close, and that's good enough for me!  Grin

Oh! I used a pattern, but it's at home and I can't seem to find it on-line!  Roll Eyes I will have to look when I get there Sunday night, then I'll let you know!

The whole thing:

Stripe-matching awesomeness!

I like it a lot! Could it possibly be reversible as well, with the flowers and pockets on the outside?
Nice job!

It could be reversable, yes!  Grin I probably won't reverse it, I cut the lineing of the straps a bit wonky, so there are a couple weird little tucks, but I'm sure if you were paying better attention to it than I was it would definatly be reversable!

I still think I'm most excited about the stripes... I'm super happy with how they came out considering it's something I've never done before!  Grin

Found it! It's Simplicity 4625 (http://www.simplicity.com/dv1_v4.cfm?design=4625). I altered it a bit to add the pockets, but that was really easy... If anyone is interested I would be happy to share!  Grin

Love the bag   love the up-cycle
I am stuck on mine though, trying to figure out connecting the 8 pieces together. I understand sewing down the long edges and curves, I got to that part and can not figure out the picture on how to sew the 2 together  , Please help. Any info would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

if I sew through the center to connect them, how will I turn it?      1------()-----1
