I've been a lurker for forever but this is my first craft post, be gentle.  This spring break we took my stepdaughters to an anime convention.  The older one is quite obsessed and the small one is getting into it.  The little one is dressed as Sakura from Naruto.  I made the dress and the shoes, the shorts and the headband are store bought.  The older is dressed as Hinata from Naruto.  I bought the hoodie, dyed it, embroidered the patches and sewed on the fur trim.  I also made "Ninja" shoes for her.

Too cute.  Sakura especially looks like she's having a blast.

Thanks so much!  The little one has already requested a cardcaptor costume for next time Smiley  She has much more faith in my sewing skills than I do!

yay i heart naruto! (my theory is all anime lovers go through a naruto phase) i have wanted a sakura dress forever, and if i had a hinata jacket i would wear it all winter. dang i am jealous. (of your sewing skills and the fact that you get to go to an anime convention..)

Thank you so much!  My sewing skills are pretty minimal...so it amazing it turned out wearable.  You could easily make the jacket, it was a store bought hoodie, dye tan with fur sew on and embroidered patches (though you could use some decent transfer paper and just put the image on that way.  I had old paper, so it cracked badly, so I embroidered)

Thank you.  You make a nice Hinata yourself I see from your icon.  The younger one now has a Cardcaptor costume as well (Not sure I ever posted that on here)
