So my mom never wants anything or if she wants something it will be at the last minute. She does have one weekness and that is Old Navy flip flops. We do not have a ON in town, the closest is 30 minutes away and since I travel more tha she does I always stock up in Sprin for her.

Around her bday in March she noticed an add for bangles at Nordstrom...They were simple acrylic bangles with words. The prices ranged from $120 to $200, she liked the bagles but not the price. I tried taking her into one but none of the words or phrases suited her, she just liked the look. So this past weekend I was at Michael's and they had a display with blank bangles and supplies to create your own custom design...The only bummer is the acrylic are really small, even for me - I have dinky hands! The wood ones are really roomy though.

My idea is to buy my mom ON flip flops in her fave colors and then make a bangle that matches each pair (acrylic paint and clear gloss are my idea right now). Very simple but I know she will be happy. If I can master some emroidery (I have been learning lately) I would like to make he ra few hankies with some of her fave lil desings...

That sounds cool.

My mom is not the flip flop or bracelet type really.

She's so hard to buy for (on my budget).

But I would love it if my eldest did what you're planning (and since she's just 7, I know your projects will turn out even better).
