This was a task our class had to complete for life drawing. She was a kooky teacher but we did some fun stuff. This is a giant pixelated self portrait. We got a photo of ourselves and pixelated (I'm not actually sure if that's spelled correctly, who cares!) it using photoshop, then we coloured in some old computer mouse mats that I'd cut into quarters



and put them in the appropriate order and ta DA!!

I absolutely LOVE this.
I am going to try to do something similar just using pieces of paper.

Any idea what you used in photoshop to pixelate?

I think I just looked in effects or something and found the word pixelate and did it. You can chose how big you want your pixels to be. I think it would be totally awesome doing a wall like this out of tiles. What's cool is that it's had to make out up close but from a distance the image is clearer. We put these on the floor of the school foyer and you could see them from the third level over the balcony.
