My bf requested that I make him a quilt to give his head mistress at work (he's a teacher at fancy pants private school on the upper west side).  He said she had an Urban Outfitters style and he loved the panels that I put in this quilt: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=231810.0

Thankfully I had leftovers so I whipped this up.  It was inspired by Amy's Bend the Rules Sewing quilt but I don't have the book so I drew my own on some paper before starting.  I have a new Bernina machine which sews like a dream.  This whole thing got whipped up in about 5 hours, which includes piecing the binding and all the machine quilting.  I have leftover fabric so I am so making myself something with this fabric.  It's so pretty.  I think maybe the Amy Butler lotus fabric doesn't match that well with the rest but it was too pretty to leave out!

this is how I took photos without the kitties, teheh.

There are a few spots that look a bit wrinkly right now (where there is less quilting).  It will get a lot more wrinkly (yaaay) as it has yet to be washed so I am not concerned with that at all.

I had more of this teal owly fabric so I used it ;P

Thank you for looking and all comments are appreciated!!

Oh and one more for good measure, me with it!

Very nice.  I think the unmatchiness of the lotus fabric makes it very urban outfitters-esque.  I like it.   Smiley

I think I have become addicted to quilting.

I love this quilt!  It does look like it should come from urban outfitters, but it is even cooler because there are not multiples of this one.  There is only one...made by you.  I am completely jealous of your Bernina purchase.  I am stitching away on my early 70's Kenmore-which is cool because it is all metal (no plastic anywhere-it weighs a lot) but it lacks many stitches and all your Bernina happiness-like the stitch regulator.  I can tell it is doing you well!  A quilt in 5 hours?  Unheard of! No way! (to badly quote the princess bride)

I usually never believe when pple say that they do something speedy but I have to say this is totally true.  The Bernina is so freaking quick.  As you can see, there's not a lot of piecing really.  The quilting goes very quickly as it's so smooth. I only had to change the bobbin once in the whole quilt, etc.  I love love my Bernina.  It was a splurge for sure but it's so great for quilting.

My bf gave it to his boss today and she loved it!  She told her friend who wants to buy one from me!  wooot!
