I was in Walmart today and they had a whole end cap of a Brother sewing machine for $69!! Looks like it did a few different stitches, I didn't get to really look at b/c the kids were rushing to the bathroom, it wouldn't be a trip to Walmart w/out using the bathroom (the ones here are very clean so it's not so bad) and they have the little sink the kids like to use  Cheesy

I figured if someone was looking at $$ was an issue that was a great deal!!

May I say this without getting a $69 sewing machine thrown at me?

You get what you pay for.

I personally stand by the try-it-before-you-buy-it method with any machine.

That's the machine I've got, as well!  I agree with Penlowe, it's not ideal for a seamstress looking to do intricate, complex, or commercial work (or thick bits of hems and seams...jean-a-ma-jig helps, though), but for a novice, or someone who doesn't require a whole lot from a machine, it's good!  I've had no problems with mine, that I didn't cause myself Wink.  Heck, mine wasn't even new, it was refurbished.  Still, no complaints.

Can someone post a picture of the machine?

Brother 10-Stitch Portable Sewing Machine, LS-2125i

Hope that helps, I don't have this machine so I can not say anything about it personally.

I have to agree! You will outgrow this machine very quickly, if it lasts that long!

I have this one, i got it when I was overseas and needed a 220 volt.  It worked fine, and I'll take it when I go to an appropriate country again.  But bear in mind: it wouldn't sew when I needed to sew a vest.  It was fine on lingerie and regular fabric, but wouldn't penetrate the double- layer of quilted nylon and interlining.  I don't recommend this machine for anything serious.
