I've always loooved the way art looks on wood.
And I've always wanted to try woodburning.  A month-ish ago I bought myself a detail pen.  It works amaaazing on making little textures, but takes up so much time when you want to fill in a large area.

Here's what I've made so far... definitely more to come!

"If you wear your monster suit every day", his mother warned him, "one day you'll turn into one!"
"but that's exactly what i want!" he exclaimed, and continued to wear his monster suit every day, until the zipper rusted over from rain, and it was so filthy that even real monsters had to plug their noses at the stench.
Paint pens, ink & woodburning on his hair.

Boy of Bears

Girl of Deer.  One day, she awoke to find stubs growing atop her head.  She ignored it.  The next day, she awoke to find a full set of antlers, the size of small, branchy trees.  She didn't mind much.

Not pictured in the first picture because it got bought up before I got a chance to take it.

Hello, Monsters
A much larger plaque than the other ones.  There's so many cool textures, it's fun to run my fingers over. Cheesy

Seriously, these are so impressive.  Inspiring, even; they're so original.  I had a woodburning kit when I was a kid at my cabin.  Now I'm dying to try it again.

sooo awesome!!!    they remind me of miss monsters art work.  you guys have similar styles,  and you both do crazy wild monsters!

it's the Quiet ones you have to watch out for.  They truly know what is going on.

have you considering staining or varnishing the wood to finish it?

These look amazing! I have an old wood burner that I bought once on a creative impulse ("I have to try *every* kind of art" impulse) that has been put on the back burner (harhar) .. but it might be time to pull it out!  Cheesy thanks for sharing!
