My Dollar Store Challenge entry is: A Tea Party Hat.

Complete with .... a tea party!

Materials were randomly selected by myself and my pal, no plan in mind when purchased.  Though um, I guess we were in a pink mood that day.  My house has never HAD so much pink in it!

-pink plastic basket
-pink shoelaces
-pink scarf
-toy tea set (a few pieces were broken, so was on sale - woo!)
-food-shaped erasers
-insect erasers
-(pictured: flower barrette, swapped out for pink curly ribbon)
-glue to hold everything on (already had at home)
Total cost: $9.84

I forgot to take in-progress pictures, oops!

Finished:

Overhead view: (note that as you would wear this to an outdoor tea party, there are the typical outdoor guests: bees and bugs!)

And yes, there's real sugar, tea, and cream in those containers!

The tea cakes look sooooo good!

Modeling the Tea Party Hat:

More Modeling:

A view of the back of the hat:

Everything will stay put, even if the hat does fall off your head (action shot!):

And of course, one has to have a guest over for tea.  The Resident Cat came by for a taste:

I had a lot of fun making this, and my neighbor spotted me prancing around in my living room with this hat on so I've just solidified that "wacko but nice" reputation again.  Smiley   Hee.

Fun fun fun!

I've never seen such cool erasers in my life! Ok, I lied, when I went to Japan I bought a million sushi and sashimi shaped erasers for my friends, but outside of the US and fish-dom, I've never seen such delicious looking erasers, and such a delicious hat. I LOVE how you put real sugar, tea and cream in the tea set!
