Materials used: foil baking pans, crayons, and ribbon.
Final cost: 7 dollars

The result? Stained-glass looking art that you can color with, should you choose. Inspired by sweetsforevers crayon favors (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=190245.msg1998153#msg1998153)

the first one, all about fall.

close up.

the "abstract" one

the group of four wall pieces

and the gang all together!

Hope you enjoy!

Here's how you make them:
stick in one color combo at a time, i.e., letting the tree trunk fuse to the sheet before you add in the grass and sky, etc. It's important to only let the crayons begin to melt, b/c once they go into liquid form they can't be controlled. I had plans to do a four-seasons theme, but it seems dollar-store crayon boxes have no rhyme or reason. I didn't have enough of some colors, and too many for others. Hence, the other art pieces. It's definitely a project I'll have to do again.

This is so cool. I love all of them but especially that fall one. Did you just lay the crayons on there and bake? This is definitely cool art!

Those are fantastic! Great idea to do melty-crayon stained glass! Totally brilliant. I especially love the 4 wall pieces. Plus you can also color with them! Too cool  Cheesy

We're on craftster because we love to create. Why should we settle for what we currently are?

I love the abstract ones!  They would look especially  fantastic in the rooms of children!
