Hi everyone!  This is my first craftster challenge entry and I am so excited!!!  My favorite thing to buy at the dollar store are umbrellas, they are so useful, and only a dollar so if it breaks or you loose it, no biggie!  I decided to take my love for these things and construct a summer dress and a shrug!  This is my final design (it took me many tries and redesigns to get it right)  I copied the dress from one  in my closet and the shrug just kinda came out of my head.  I love it because it kind of looks space age!  After I was done I thought the shrug needed a little something more, so I did an applique umbrella on the back.

here is the front

and the back

sorry this one is kind of blurry!

another way to wear it

I wanted to keep the integrity of the umbrella so you could still tell what it was made out of!  So if you look close you can see the triangles!  Thanks for looking!!

I love the dress! The shrug is a little much for me but that dress I would totally wear.... in the rain even.

WOW!  Seriously, WOW!  Does it breathe okay when you wear it?  Does it make a lovely crinkly noise?

What an amazing idea!

I would make it a point to wear that thing out in the rain. Smiley

if it's not raining right now you must immediately turn on the sprinklers and go dance with that outfit on.  how fun!

Wow I would never ever have thought of making a dress out of an umbrella.  Very impressive, and the umbrella on the back is so cute!
