So last night was the Vampire Ball in PDX, I agreed to help Noxenlux in her vending booth. But we needed outfits. So about 3 months ago we agreed to do a steampunk theme.  Since we were going to a Vampire ball i decided to dress as a vampire hunter.  Here is my version.

Hat is handmade to match the rest of the outfit.  The fabric i got at fabric depot for $1/yd during the summer outdoor sale and had been holding on it for a while.
Jacket is a Vogue pattern minus one arm. (that little jacket was warm too!) http://www.voguepatterns.com/item/V8299.htm?tab=jackets_coats&page=3
The skirt(apron) and Bustle are from a discontinued simplicity costume pattern.
I was on a tight time limit so the bustle and bustle padding were attached by ribbon, I knew i would be wearing a corset and could easily tuck ribbon under it.  Connected to the bustle is about 5 yards of tull, half black and half antique Gold. The gold is shorter than the black.
Vintage Skeleton Keys were bought on ebay, the copper chain was bought at Walmart.
Spats were made from a vintage 1971 simplicity pattern, although I had to do a lot of adjustments since they were designed for skinny legs. Of which i do not have.

My Boyfriend made me a steampunk vampire detector, of course he made is special to fit my arm. It was a group effort of sorts. I did all the detail painting on it while he built the whole thing. lol

We also customized a Nerf Maverick to match the vampire detector.

Here is the holster to match the rest of the outfit

The costume went over very well even though i was down in the dealers room all night.

More pictures including the vampire killer ammo are available here:

I think this just made my night.  I just finished reading a vampire romance novel, so seeing this made me giggle. It's very impressive and you look fantastic!
