Ah, I see your reasoning! I'm stuck on wanting to do one sweater - an EZ sweater - that absolutely HAS to be done in one piece and steeked, at which i'm going eeeeeeeeeek! So glad this one doesn't make me eeeeek!

I brought the yarn to work today and will cast on for my swatch ... then I'm good to go!

Okay, I got the first couple inches done and am loving the way it works out to be a bottom ribbing - BUT I don't like the cream colored yarn for this guy - so I'm either going to dye it (thinking about coffee or tea to dye it!) but it is in balls, not hanks, so I'm hesitating - I may just go to the yarn store and pick up some more.

But once I get going on it ... I'll GET GOING!!! I love the pattern and how it is working up for you in your color. So this weekend, yarn decision will be made and from there on it should be smooth sailing ...

How are you doing?

*shuffles feet* Well.... you see... I found this shawl pattern (actually, that PDF is new, I was working from an all text no chart version) and a nice red yarn and....  Grin

I'm going to make myself get to the start of the armhole shaping before I pick up the shawl again. Or try to anyway.  Cheesy

ooooooooooooooooooooooo, that's simply gorgeous!!!!

hey - don't go shuffling those feet! I always have at least three projects on the needles at once! Variety is the spice of life (plus, different places, different types of knitting).

I did decide to knit the sweater in the yarn as is - and then dye. and cross fingers that it comes out okay! So - about ready to start the real pattern now!

(I got sidetracked as well - some students got me some yarn for my birthday and i'm knitting it up as quickly as possible to show them my appreciation! It truly is lovely yarn!)

At the moment I have just the sweater and shawl (and a double knitting swatch that I'm probably going to frog) but I just finished a pair of fingerless mitts and a cotton hat. I get the urge to start new projects whenever I get bored with what I have going.  Roll Eyes

I think as long as you soak it for a good long time to be sure there are no air pockets/bubbles it should dye okay. Smiley

Oh, that shawl is gorgeous!!! i love making shawls - but unfortunately have no one on my gift list that wears/uses them! Such a pity, as so many new patterns are coming out these days!

And by all means - do a variety of things - don't force yourself to stick with just one thing until you finish it or you will be so bored you will toss out your needles (hah!) - I'm a firm believer in multiple projects to add variety to life!

John's sweater will progress when it is ready!
