So, i had saved this picture of some embroidered fingerless gloves ages and ages ago and finally decided to try and duplicate them.

My version!

Blurry close up

Original picture

The brown yarn was some 100% percent handspun lambswool i picked up at a thrift store for a buck. The rest is all leftover, and i made the pattern up myself.

And for kicks, i thought they'd be usefull since today is the first day of spring break, and it snows, i think this is my less than thrilled face

Its starting to melt but we're supposed to get more tonight. Silly washington weather.

Pattern This is the first pattern i've written so im not sure if its totally clear..
I have pretty small hands, so im not sure if these would fit everyone but they're about 6 1/2 inches around the wrist.
*** Please only use this pattern for personal use only, so no selling the pattern,  or the product, thanks!

I used some sport weight wool and i *think* a size e hook.

On to the pattern

1. Chain 35, slip stitch into circle (wrist)

2. Sc in each stitch around. Join.

3. Dc in each stitch around- join

4. Fpdc (front post dc) in next, bpdc (back post dc) in next. im not sure if that totally makes sense but you'll be going like this -- bpdc, fpdc, bpdc, fpdc alternating around.

5. Repeat step 4 for 6 more rows.

6. Dc in each. (I had 35 around by now.)

7. Alternate 2 dc in next and 1 dc in next

8. Dc in each stitch

9. Dc in next 8, 2 dc in next

10. Sc in next 8, count 8 from where you started on the opposite side, single crochet through it to seperate a section for your thumb. (this is confusing, but just count 8 directly on the other side and this will form the thumb hole) Im not sure if that made any sense, you can ask if you need help

11. Sc in each stich around LARGER section, (hand section)

12. Dc in each stich around hand section

13. Repeat step 12 for 3 more rows

14. sc in each around

15. This step is also confusing, but seperate the hand section using the same technique as the thumb. I divided the hand section into 10 sc for each finger. Then i tied off each one. Then in each i increased by doing 1 sc, 2sc, in each stitch around till it was comfortable for each finger. I really hope this makes some sense.

16. Now do the same for the thumb slot.

17. Now i went around the wrist and worke a row of sc then 2 rows of dc, you cant increase here if you need too.

18.  Hopefully you've understood enough to make it to this point! Now do it all over again for another glove, then decorate!

I think the black pair is more beautiful, but then I'm a knitter at heart and I love the colour black... I really love that you adapted it to have individual fingers and not just one opening for them all. Nicely done!

Oh I hadn't looked closely enough, I didn't realise they were crocheted. They're really pretty. I much prefer the brown/fawn ones. I've only made mittens before but these have inspired me to be braver and try a hand full of fingers.

They look lovely - were they difficult to make? I never write down patterns when I am making things up, then when I go to make the second one in the pair I usually forget how I did it! Especially if I have ripped back a few times to try different possibilities.

Im exactally the same way, i never write down patterns, but since i needed to make 2 i figured i'd write it down. They weren't to hard to make, as long as you know front post, and back post double crochet to make ribbing.
