Ok, so I wanted to try to draft my own pattern, did that, then I was afraid if I had measured wrong or anything I would mess up good fabric, soooo, I took an Old Tshirt and chopped it up appling my pattern! It actually turned out half way decent! I need to make a few adjustments, but here it is:

*********TUTE ADD*********
For those of you who asked & have so patiently waited .. I present: a HUGE tute!

First the measurements:

trace all of your pattern onto a tshirt:
NOTE: I made the waist pieces and the front & back of shirt half size and cut them out on a fold:

I hope that covers it all! Sorry for the overload of pics! It's my first real tute! Any questions, please PM me!

Enjoy!

I love it, the braided strap is cute and it fits you very well.
If you can take a gungy old t-shirt and make it look that fantastic, I can't imagine what 'nice' fabric would look like.

Ummm... it looks amazing! Great job!
Im sure half if not more is the great figure you have which i point out only because i assume you are mother to all the children in your avatar, so congrats for that!..
But the shirt looks great, i am not experienced enough to offer any advice, it all looks good to me.
Cant wait tosee what it looks like with 'nice' fabric!

Yes, they are all mine, I don't know how I ended up looking like this, after giving birth to 5 children within 8 years! LOL Pure luck! Smiley

Thank you all for your nice comments! I ask for suggestions, becuase I am also new at all this, but I have become addicted! Cheesy

I'm sure it would be fine, just add a zipper in the back to make it fit right!

I wanted a shirt that was unique, so I thought it up & made the pattern! LOL It kinda resembles Marilyn Monroes white dress top a little ...

That is really cute and fits you really well.  I think the braided straps are a nice detail... I like when there is some texture differences rather than color changes, myself.  The only thing I would suggest is making a casing for the elastic in back so that it doesn't show with the cute ruffles.

i agree though, it'd be good to make an elastic casing so it doesn't show with the ruffles....
but yeah, definitely make it!

That's really great, very impressive that it turned out so well. I'm sure it would look really nice with new fabric (ooh, what about a cherry print!), but I also think that recycling another tee like that is very cool - it seems like magic! You could use old striped or printed ones.

LOL Yea ... that was one of the touch ups I needed to do ... I actually ripped it out and took in the sides a little bit & just left it fitted in the back! Thanks though, if I do the elastic on the next one, I will for sure do the casing!

If I were to make it for myself, i think I would change it from a halter to a regular tank top, then you wouldn't have to worry about the elastic in the back, as the straps would hold it up.  Other then that---I love it!  I love the braided strap as well, and the little detail where the strap meets the shirt.

Waits patiently for the tute!  lol
