my step father was a highschool art teacher and one year they cast all the kids in the class, Like their whole bodies shoes and all! They put them all on display at the miami airport they were terribly neat. My parents have one in their house, they have named her and she has moved with them twice!! I think shes even wearing some jewelry my mom put on her at one point.

Oh, I really want to make one of these for my fashion-designing friend. She'll love me forever, being that I'm a size six... she won't have to spend a lot on fabric!

HEY!

nice tailors dummy.
i have had a go at making my own,

i have finished the duct tape part but halfway through we ran out of tape and all the shops are closed,
so we carried on with the brown tape u use for big mail packages and it still looks ok.
but the problem now lies that where we cut it to open the back it keeps going in even thought we taped over it 3 or 4 times already.
can u give any advive on how to help strengthen that part again Huh

the other question i have is the foam u use on the outside surely that must not distort the figure but make it bigger in a way Huh

and last question i have is what did u fill the inside with if u didn't fill it with anything then how do u get it to stay so strong Huh

tnx alot already in advance

Has anyone tried covering theirs in material? Just curious because I made one of those duct tape dummies the other day and was thinking of covering it in material myself...

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to mount the dummy?  Hanger?  Stand?  I would hate to do this whole deal and then end up just setting it on the floor in a corner.   Tongue

regarding using plaster...

i have some friends that needed molds of boddies for a lamp making project... they got their models to wear tight fitting clothes and wrapped them first with cotton sheets (you know, the cotton that comes in rolls instead of puff balls?) and THEN applied the plaster. It can't be too bad, because they even put them in weird positions which they had to hold untill the plaster finally dried... It was fun cause they made a party out of it and in the end everyone was a little tipsy  Grin (i say "little" to protect the innocent, also, we were all of age and took no part in any illegal activities) (hee hee hee!!)

The end result was great, although a bit larger than the original models, due to the cotton layer, but i guess you could also use an old t-shirt... or even better tear up a sweat suit and wrap yourself in it... the fabrick is spongier (?) and it would let the plaster breathe and dry quicker... But hey, if it doesn't work, don't come back suing! i'm just thinking outloud here...
