fairybug22 - that would be some serious raiding. haha... i could just imagine someone stealing over 500 paint chips from the home depot. Cheesy

roxybadoxy - thanks. and the paint chips are designer samples, so they are much larger than normal, they are designed to be cut into multiple squares for different projects... but they are only like 2X2 and they started at 3X3 (but with a hole in them...)

thanks everyone for the nice replies.  Cheesy

That's really cool.  It looks like a tile mosaic.

Where do you get huge sheets of contact paper?  I only ever find the little sheets and rolls (but then again, I obviously don't know where to look for anything else).

this is a GREAT idea!  i've collected paint chips for years as scrapbooking cardstock, so i've got bags of them piled up.   and i have a wall in my bedroom that has a weird inset area too small to hang anything in it, but this would be perfect!

Where do you get huge sheets of contact paper?  I only ever find the little sheets and rolls (but then again, I obviously don't know where to look for anything else).
i had the same question--the widest i've ever seen is maybe a foot--bigger would be a huge time saver!

what kind of paint doesn't it pull off (meaning, if i stuck it to my matte paint, would it rip it off)?

amazing work!  congrats on your awesome apartment!

Awesome - AWESOME!
I've tried doing stuff with paint chips before making some sort of weird floral mosaic and just got so frustrated I gave up.

That is a wonderful way to jazz up a paint-banned wall!

kirsa and fjordtjie - I don't know how large the stuff I had was like 1 1/2 feet wide? I think... I found it at goodwill brand new for a dollar, so I'm really sorry I can't tell you where to get it. I'd try like home depot? They might have something... when I said huge I meant like 12 feet long and like 1 1/2 feet wide... Cheesy

wow thanks everyone for the great response. I'd love to see what you guys all do.

I think it would be really really cool to either do this with all Magazine squares, or with magazine squares mixed in... I was going to do this, but I decided it wouldn't work in my room.

oh and with the paint thing, my contact paper barely even sticks to the wall (they're textured I don't know if that has something to do with it) and I guess its a matte paint... I think it was a mess up mix of paint, because not even two rooms in the entire house have the same color, and some walls in the same rooms are different. Cheesy
