Paint chips + contact paper = Homemade Wallpaper!

I'm really excited about my newest project. As I've mentioned in a few previous posts I have a TON of paint chips, all the designer samples from like the past 3 years or so? Sooo... I made trees, and mobiles, and thing after thing, but I'm really proud of this one (and the trees. )


It's about 500 paint chips, cut into squares, and stuck on HUGE sheets of  contact paper, then I stuck them on my wall.... It works really well, because our landlady won't let us tack anything up, or paint, and the contact paper doesn't pull the paint off! yay!
What do you all think? and if anyone else tries it out, I'd love love love to see it.

edit- just wanted to give a few helpful hints to anyone who tries it. first off test your wall and contact paper! I don't want anyones paint ruined because it didn't work with your walls. and second I would definately use a couple staples along the edges. they really don't leave holes, and it helps alot. and finally I think it would be really spiffy if someone recycled a magazine with this.... just cut it up into little squares and use them instead of stealing paint chips. I only had this many cause they were given to me.... have fun.

I think it took like 4-5 hours? I nearly gave up several times.... I had put white backing on it at first, but w/o it looks almost suspended there and it was just better...
thanks everyone. I kinda feel like by the time I finish a project I've been staring at it for 5 hours and don't know if its actually good, or just good cause I'm getting bored.

Awesome. Makes me wish I hadn't just finally given in and thrown out all those paint chips I had lying around. It looks like it took some patience, but the result is very cool.
