Okay I was watching the new episode of the Hills and it was when they went to Paris. Whitney was wearing this hat that was so pretty it was like http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=151079.0 that but it had kind of a lacy X design. It was so nice.

Last night I had a dream that I had the pattern and made the hat and my husband loved it. And I tucked all my hair into it. Hmmm that sounds sooo weird but hey it's my dream right? =)

Did anyone see the episode and happen to notice the hat? Any ideas of a pattern for it?

Is this the hat?

I know I've seen this stitch pattern before...will have to look in my books and see if I can find it.  If you click on the pictures they get bigger.

I was thinking the same thing when I was watching the show: "I love that hat...I want to make it."  I looked through the stitch dictionary books that I have, which is...2, and I wasn't able to find that stitch in them.  Poo.  On the way home she was wearing a grey one that I thought was cute too, but it looked like a basic bulky slouch hat.

That just looks like some well-placed y/o's to me. If you start with a basic pattern for a hat in that shape and then plot out where you want the holes it should come together.
