That is some beautiful blackwork, midnight7649!  Can I ask what materials you used?  (What kind of thread, how many strands, what count and weave of fabric)?  And did you stitch all of that background fill pattern as well?  That's a really, really nice job!

this is the extra item from sajona, which my friend didn't find at first when unpacking everything. she loves it! it's a golden cover with a printed pic of Elizabeth and her motto emrboidered on either side: semper eadem

Thanks Amphipodgirl! I used plain old 14 ct white aida cloth and charcoal grey #3799 DMC floss. For the blossoms and border around them i used 3 strands of floss, and for the background grid pattern i used 1 strand of floss. This was my first time doing blackwork and i didn't realize how long it would take to fill the background in  Smiley but i think it was worth it.

thanks! It is special silk paper that is attached to normal printing paper - you use it in a in jet printer and leave it to dry then peel the silk off the paper. I then trimmed it and hand stitched it to the silk dupion background. It was then had quilted with the words and allover the picture. I also attached crystal and gold beads on the dress and crown.
