i'm going to start knitting "candy" very soon and would like some company.

the pattern is here, from the winter knitty: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter04/PATTcandy.html

the yarn that the pattern calls for has been discontinued, but people over at knitty are recommending these yarns:
rowan kid classic: http://www.yarnmarket.com/product.cfm?action=show_product&product_id=505
jo sharp rare infusion mohair: http://www.herrschners.com/products/sku-719108__id-1052__tab-.html

i haven't bought my yarn yet, and am trying to decide between knitting a sweater with dark blue (http://image.herrschners.com/zoom_img/WW719108-0618z.jpg) as the main color and green (http://image.herrschners.com/zoom_img/WW719108-0613z.jpg) as the contrasting color, or cream (http://www.yarnmarket.com/images/Done-AF-M-828-Kid_Classic-Rowan.jpg) with a bright juicy red color as a contrast (http://www.yarnmarket.com/images/Done-AF-M-827-Kid_Classic-Rowan.jpg)  DECISIONS DECISIONS!!

who wants in?

I would like to knit this one. It caught my eye, the minute I saw it. I won't be able to start until mid February.

i've ordered my yarn (having found a store that sold both rowan kid and reynolds lopi, so i can finish skully!: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=23609.0) and picked a less-candy-like oatmeal color for the MC and a light blue for the CC.  i'm psyched.  hopefully i'll get knitting by next weekend.

Please count me in too. I just need to finish up a few of my other projects first.

I think I'm going to make it in Kidsilk Haze in close to the original shades...Kind of a spendy yarn, but I think it might be worth it. I love this pattern!

I'll be starting in a week or two. Smiley

i would Love to do this in basic black with white contrast but i suspect i'm not quite up to doing a "piquant" pattern yet. i'm in the process of making a Tempting and it's taking me bloody well forever (and it's only a "mellow"!) i think i'd also have to tweak this pattern a bit because buttons and my chest do Not get along well and i haven't even the slightest idea of how to go about altering knitting patterns that i can't fully comprehend after reading a dozen times.

SO. i shall follow along and contribute when i don't suck quite so much at knitting. ^_^

My website is coming together nicely! Please send me feedback, as I don't know how well it works on systems other than mine.

Also, I have a blog at  http://neglectedblog.blogspot.com/

I absolutely love this pattern... and now that there's a knitalong I may have to put it on my list...  I also love the colors of that Jo Sharp Mohair - I would love to do this sweater in chai/rosehip or camomile/rosehip...  we'll see.  Maybe if I'm really good and get done some of my WIPs....  thanks for the yarn links, letsread, and I love the colors you chose - it will look beautiful!

There's a candy knitalong in progress here:
http://toveb.typepad.com/candyknitalong/
However, the hostess is swedish...  And yes, a couple of the posts are in swedish.  But there's pretty pictures!  Anyway, I joined this knitalong, knit like a demon, then stalled.  The only thing left for me to do is pick up stitches at the bottom and knit the ribbing.  But somehow this project has fallen to the bottom of my to-do pile.  Maybe you girls can motivate me?
I used Lion's Brand Imagine in cerise (a hot pink color) and did the stripes with Kid Silk Haze in... Candy (!), a hot pink color.  For those of you who want to use KSH (hi Suzie!), please note that it's a very fine "thread" with a big "halo" of mohair, whereas the yarn the designer used is much thicker, so the effect will be very different. Here's a look at my stripes:

Can you see the difference in weight between the 2 yarns?!
Good luck everybody!
PS Juniperl: isn't Tempting knit in the round?  That always takes forever...

I'd love to make this when I have finished all the stuff I have lined up, so that will be a loooong time Sad  I'd love to see how it comes out on big busted women as I get the feeling that the length of it and the two tone bits might accentuate in a bad way on people like me Sad  (I'm F cup - poo).  I'd also like to see how it comes out in Kid Classic - it's a gorgeous yarn to knit with and sooooo soft and comfy.  Yum!
