So I've had the idea that a guitar would be an awesome planter for a long time now.  I just had to be patient and wait til my BF broke his.

If you want a before pick, just think of what a guitar looks like as the damage was in the back.  Got it?  Good.

I got some vinyl, (you know, the kind grandma has on the sofa) cut out the guitar shape and sewed it on my machine.  Then i went back and sealed all the seams with some plumbers glue. (I had a picture but clear vinyl doesn't show up well on camera.)  I stuffed the whole piece down the center hole in the guitar and using a dowel rod opened the piece back up.  Filled it with potting soil and re-potted a plant.

Once the plant grows a little I'm going to put in guitar strings and train it up the neck of the guitar.

Thank for looking!

I need to get rid of stuff!! i have soap kits, bath salt kits, lip balm kits, plain canvas tote bags, fabric paints, and other stuff i'm trying to clean out. It'd be cool to swap for yarn, but i'll give it away FREE! PM me if you're interested!!!

Great idea, and it's going to look fanTAStic when the leaves start climbing up the neck!

I can see it now - a old guitar with ivy, a sax with flowers, a clarinet with herbs, a violin... possibilities abound!

Very cool.

I think I would have used something more viney, with little flowers. You could put little music notes on the plant. Make it arty.
