Well, I found these recieving blankets at the Dollar Tree, I really liked the patterns and colors, but being dollar store blankets, they were very thin and the edges were not done very well, so I bought 4 of them, I sewed 2 together (right sides together, flipped them then sewed a 1/2 inch borded all the way around) using a hole punch (or an edgery doo) I crocheted this border all the way around, I kinda made up this pattern.

There are two different ones here. They turned out alot better than i thought, and they were super fast, total time with sewing and crocheting was less than 2 hours.

Great idea. I've seen cheap blankets at wal-mart with the same situation..cheap price, cute pattern, but way too thin for anything useful (except burp rags). I'll have to try this! I keep meaning to buy an edgery doo..
