This is not a recon, because I bought Lawn Chair Webbing specifically for this project.  I did not reuse old webbing.  I guess you could, though.  If I posted this in the wrong spot, mods feel free to move it.  Thanks!

So, I saw this tutorial:  http://www.twofoos.com/crafts/sp.html for a seatbelt bag...cool...I showed my MIL and she said, "that would look cool made out of Lawnchair webbing!" so we got on ebay, ordered some, and here is our first of many bags...

If we were to try to sell these (evenutually) do you think people would buy them???

Comments/Critisizms welcome!!!   Thanks!!!

yea, after I ordered my webbing, I went searching for more ideas on how to construct the bags, and I ran across her etsy...her bags look soooo good.  Maybe with some practice, I can make mine look more like hers...

Thanks for all the nice comments!

this is really cute!!
i have some webbing my mom got to repair some lawn chairs and never did
and i was going to use it to make a bag, too
i just haven't done it yet
(i guess procrastination runs in the family)
anyway - did you have any trouble sewing in the lining?
and is the webbing secured any other way? (stapled, sewn, glued to itself?)
i'm definitely going to have to make mine before summer!!

I mostly followed the tutorial I listed...I was nervous about sewing on the webbing, so I used a zig zag stitch....it did okay...I did not try a zipper yet...maybe on my next one.

Thanks for the nice comments!!

Very cool!  I saw the photo in your avatar, and I just had to see if it was what I thought it was!  I have a half-finished lawnchair webbing bag in my closet.  It's been half-finished since the summer of 2006!   Undecided  I found unused lawnchair webbing in a grab bag of stuff at a thrift store, and I knew I wanted to weave it into a bag.  I'm just not terribly sure I like the shape, so I've never finished it.  I've been thinking about taking it apart and making it into a slightly smaller bag.  Maybe yours will give me the kick in the pants I need in order to finish mine!  Smiley
