Hi all,
I've been lurking on Craftster for a long while, and just recently made my first post. For your viewing pleasure (I hope), here's a picture of a little redheaded faerie doll I made: the first project I've put up. It's not my usual style, but I made it for a specific person and it happens to be the only project picture I have uploaded at the moment. More posts to come when I get some new digicam batteries...

Oooh.  I love your faerie.  It makes me think of Brian Fround's stuff.  You should make one for all of the elements.  I can't wait to see your other projects.

Yay! I'm so glad you like it. I was actually thinking of making the other elements, but now I'm regretting using red hair, which logically would have worked best on a fire faerie. Oh well. I had no brown embroidery floss at the time. Thanks for posting  Grin

Nah, red is fine for an earth fairy - the earth isn't dead, and it's like the spark of life. I think it looks great with the brown, where brown would have looked dull.

For a fire fairy, you could use bright golden yellow, or the black of coal, or even that pale blue that's at the heart of a flame...

Yo, ye pharaohs! Let us walk through this barren desert, in search of truth, and some pointy boots, and maybe a few snack crackers.

Red representing the spark of life is a great way to put it, and you're probably right about the brown come to think of it. I like the idea of long black hair on a fire faerie. I think it would make her look sort of vampy. I'm all inspired now. Too bad I'm pretty much asleep at the keyboard. Don't you hate it when inspiration strikes just when you have no energy to carry out your ideas? Anyway, thanks. Fire faerie has moved up on my list of to-do's.
