stitch markers of awesomeness! (4 pics)

I just made my first set of stitch markers... woot!  They're so pretty... I made a full dozen of them, 11 + 1 bigger one to mark the beginning of rounds.  I'm pretty novice when it comes to beadworking and whatnot, so I'm particularly proud of them...

Where did you get the little metal circles that the marker drops are on? I don't mean the keyring that you are showing all of them on... I mean the circle that the stitch marker is. The metal thing at the top. Not the head pin that you put through all the beads, nor the beads... the metal circle this all hangs off.

I made them for the first time not too long ago. I enjoyed myself so much, that now I have SEVERAL stitch markers! I would have had more, but I ran out of wire!

I don't know where hers came from, of course, but I'll tell you what I did. I had seen several on here, and could never get anyone to respond when I asked! (I'm sure it will be different for you!  )

Anyway, I just used some silver wire and wrapped it around a sharpie! I wrapped for a bit, took the large coil off and cut them appart. I never have the correct tools, but it worked beautifully!

Mine are just split rings from the jewelry making department of a craft store.  They come in several different sizes, I got one of the bigger ones... they're very roomy on my #8 needles.

Those are beautiful stitch markers. Very pleasant usage of color. The silver wire adds an elegant touch.

You could use 10mm - 15mm split rings that are used in jewellery making.  You can usually get a 100 for £2 on ebay or any craft shop.
