Love Beads Baby Quilt--Weird Colors!

Here's a baby quilt I just finished for my best friend's daughter. I made it with Kona Cotton; the background is a lovely dark brown color called "Espresso." I don't know the other color names, as they were in unlabeled fat quarters, but they included light orange, light olive green, lavender, pale yellow, salmon, and pale pink. It ended up being about 42 inches square. The pattern is from the Modern Quilt Workshop... I love that book!

I can't tell if it's cool or ugly!



Here's a close up... I quilted one-inch wide vertical stripes on the brown sections and free-form spirals on the circles.

Oooooh.  I have been eyeballing this pattern myself.  I think it is a GREAT baby quilt idea because I dislike pastel cutesy baby stuff.

The colors look great together, and the pattern is fabulous.  I also dislike cutesy (especially commercial) baby items.  This quilt is GORGEOUS and very well done.
