I made this a year or so ago, but I'm just now getting around to posting it
In college, my husband (boyfriend at the time) had fun making some pseudo-serious action comics for the university newspaper. So for his birthday, I made him a blanket with the title and several of the panels silk-screened on it.
I enlarged and traced the panels using an overhead projector, then got to work cutting out the stencils
I had never screen-printed anything before, so it was nerve-wracking thinking I was going to mess up the paint each time I added a panel, but it turned out fine
I then sewed white boxes around the panels, and sewed a backing and satin binding on. Sewing it all together took ages, because I only know how to hand sew, but it probably worked better that way because I was constantly having to shift the fabrics around so they'd line up right (I can never seem to keep fabric held together very well, even with tons of pins
He was thrilled with it, by the way!
