Being a stay at home mom isn't easy...but I wouldn't have it any other way.  All we've done is eliminate the 2nd car and cut back a little on movies, etc. and we can afford it - if you seriously want to do it, you can!  No daycare, gas for work and lunch money makes a big difference.

I went from a job with "business attire," too.  Sweats, jammies and shorts are much cheaper!

Text-speak/Chat-speak card: I totally understand!! The only time I ever use improper grammar is when I'm obviously joking around with people. Otherwise, I spell as well as I can, and even capitalize the first letter when IMing people. I used to play an MMO game and after a while, I couldn't even talk to people who used "chat speak" because they all seemed like the same person and all seemed stupid!
