So this is my first time posting on Craftster.    Behold, the Baby Hat & Scarf Set.

I decided to make the Umbilical Cord hat because it seemed like an easy second project to learn how to use circular needles.
The side view.

The view of the hat from the top.

And then with the leftover ball of yarn i decided to make a Windy City Scarf and make a coordinated set.

This is a close up of the hole detail where the other end of the scarf goes through so it doesn't fall off baby's head.  I just used the general pattern of the Windy City Scarf from the SnB book and changed the stitch pattern to match the hat. And made it smaller in length and width.

The hat and scarf are made out of multicoloured acrylic yarn and are nice and soft for a baby.

The project wasn't for my future baby(no sign of that yet) but i think i may be giving it to the women's and children's shelter.

Any thoughts and comments are appreciated.

Thanks for looking! Grin

I love the scarf and the colors!

The Umbilical Cord baby hat was my first project on circulars, too! I was surprised at how easy it was. Your lime colours look good.
