I have an old wine crate I've been using as a bookshelf for a while, when it struck me that I never read those books and I needed a new jewelry display (all of my jewelry had been lumped into a suitcase under my bed).

So with a hammer, clear thumbtacks, and some wrapping paper, I turned it into this:

Shot of it sittin' pretty in my closet:

And the mandatory close-up to show off my jewelry  Grin:

I call it 'Laputa' because the clear tacks make it look like everything's floating in midair... when not illuminated by flash, anyway  Roll Eyes.

Update: stuff kept falling through the slot that was the handle. So now:

Yay for dollar store mirrors! It's exactly the right height, too, by some miracle of God. (Thanks, God!  Grin)
