The smaller bear looks similar to the infamous (at least in craft circles) Jennifer Murphy bears.  Check them out:

Hers sell for hundreds as well...don't write off your bear making hobby just yet!

Oooh, Jenifer Murpheys bears and things are really cute, I love that .. days of old look! Infamous?
My favourite on is the little one, too, he only about 20cm (8 ") tall, head to toes! He was the second one I made, I reckon I improved alot. The hardest part is the face. I like them to look sad, but sometimes they just end up expressionless, if you know what I mean?
It's nice to hear that so many people like them!
