I saw flossbox's tut on making little chickens.  (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=234484.0) I decided they would make neato cat toys.  So I made one from scraps from my stash and some catnip.  I double stitched all the seams so they would be extra strong for cat play.  I set the toy on the floor, went upstairs to look for the camera, came back down and saw this:

I had been gone less than 2 min.  Normally my cats are rarely interested in catnip.  apparently, that was not the case today. Here is a pic of the whole thing.  You can see how the whole thing has been licked so much that it's turned green.

Again, this happened in 2 min! Did I mention I keep my cats' claws trimmed?  I must have had some top grade crack-tastic cat nip.
I made another no frills, non-chicken one out of denim scraps and it has held up much much better. Although, you can see in the lower left corner the denim has started to turn green from all the licking.

Anyhow, thanks to flossbox for the idea.  The furry ones at my house have much love for the chickens.

My Mom and I made a few toys with catnip in them for our cat and I think the flannel was ripped within a couple of days.  She had lots of fun.  Your chickens look really cute too!  I like the cord and denim one a lot.

Looking for postcards from anywhere to use for RSVP cards for my 8/2012 wedding.  Have 80/200.
