Here is my new coat for the spring. Let's hope it will come soon (it's really cold today in France) !
I found the pattern in the winter 2002 Phildar catalog. It's only 2 pieces : easy and fun to knit ! And the chunky yarn goes so fast !

What do you think of it ?

That coat is beautiful.  I think the color and the length and the detail go together so well for a cute and classic look!

The colour is really pretty. I'm afraid my attention span is too short to take on anything that big, so kudos to you. Cheesy

I've always wanted to knit a sweater coat.. so, it's nice to know that SOMEONE did manage to knit one and actually FINISH it too!   Grin

It is beautiful.

Thank you so much ! It's very encouraging. Actually it was quick and easy to knit : chunky yarn and only 2 pieces (right side and left side, then sewn). I don't know how much it took me to knit it, but I would say about 30 hours, no much more. And no I don't knit very fast !  Wink I am very happy with this project. I am planning to make another one, with homespun yarn.

I'm so sorry not to have answered sooner ! I think you could make it shorter easily. My gauge was correct to the explanation but I think my yarn was heavier than the one used for the pattern (phildar don't sell it anymore), so my coat is much longer (due ti gravity ! lol) than the photo in the catalog.
