Yay, I get to post too!

I've been knitting and knitting and not posting at all, so here I go for a big combo topic! (I hope that's OK...) You'll get to see the evolution of my knitting! hehe!
1st project: baby blanketI knit this for a good friend of mine, who I hadn't seen in years, and who recently came back from Japan with a wife and a baby

!! Even though his little girl is about 1 or 1 ½ I still knit this blanket...

I did it on too big needles because I didn't get the mm/US size difference... Anywho...
2nd project: Tea-Cosy HatIdea taken from this post:

http://www.woollywormhead.co.uk/userimages/WW016FTeaCozyHat.pdfI didn't know gauge at this point, so the hat is too big, as you can see from the picture:

3rd project: Rose's Wrist Warmers (from Doctor Who)Idea taken from this post:

www.christinaslatte ry.com/rosepattern.pdfAfter the Tea-Cosy Hat incident, I read a bit about gauge... and altering patterns!

I bought sock yarn and then realized it was too big or something because I couldn't get the right gauge for the pattern (even with different size needles...) So I had to downsize the pattern.
This project was a lot of firsts! First gauge swatch (es), first altering of a pattern, first cable, and first THUMB! (They look horrible, I'll have to redo them! haha!) I found the cables really easy to do, especially compared to the thumbs!
Pictures!

(Blurry) Close-up of the seed stitch in the middle of the cables. If I had to do this again, I'd thread little pearls/beads on the middle purl stitch. I think they look like flowers!

Anyways, thanks for watching/reading my life story!
Oh and I have to say that I love you guys and all the life and crafty inspiration on this site!
