Here's my gal - she's inspired by Marie Antoinette.  I was inspired by Kirsten Dunst's character in the Sofia Copola movie...

Her earings and necklace are snipped from a pair of chandalier earings that had broke.

I'm not a great sewer, and I knew I wanted my poppet to have a very detailed, colourful corset, so I fitted her for a sculpey corset...

Her skirt is very simple white fabric with a bright pink sheer overlay.  The "pannier" is some purple fabric I had left over from a Halloween costume.

This challange was such great fun and I love seeing everybody's contribution!!!

I have to say her face made me giggle out loud. I love the corset! And the arm band thingies! You did a great job all the way around.

A sculpty corset!  Wow!  How do you get that thing on and off?

Cool face! I love the sculpey idea for the corset, I could see trying to make shoes out of it too.

I wanted to ask if the eyes were googly eyes? How did you do that? Grin (if you don't mind me asking) are they put in from behind?

It's two pieces... I hot glued it on because I was in a rush to post my pics... next time I'll just use some small bits of velcro.

Yup -  they are googly eyes, and - you're quite right - they are put in from behind.  I sewed two heads, one out of cheapy cotton and one out of the faux suede "skin".  I cut and hemmed holes for the eye in the outter head,  glued in the eyelashes, lined up the eyes and taped them in place from the back (inside of the head).  Then I inserted the inner cotton head into the outter head, lined up the seams and stuffed.

It's great to see her all done! You've added a new dimension to poppet making.
I was wondering about her eyes too. That's cool.
