Hi all!  I made a notebook and pencil holder for my niece who's celebrating her 12th birthday today.  Through the years, I've given her stuff that I don't really know if she appreciated or not.  So I am hoping, this present, being specially handmade for her, she will like and actually get to use.

I learned to make the holder from this tutorial:

I wasn't feeling so creative   Undecided so I copied even the applique (just changed the recipient's initials).  I added a matching bookmark though as I know she loves to read.  Hopefully, she will be inspired to keep a journal as well.

Here's my creation.  Thanks for looking!  Wink

This is so cute! Thanks for the tutorial!
I really want to make this, but I can't use a sewing machine to save my life...I wonder if I should try a paper version? Maybe I can use elastics to hold the pencils...hmmm we shall see!!!
