I love ric rac.My Mum used to sew it to all my dresses when I was small, and so it makes me feel all fuzzy and warm inside. I'd been saving this jumbo red ric rac for a while, and think it works well on this reconstructed skirt.
I started with this dress

Only £5 from a vintage stall at a textile fair.I was drawn to the pretty floral fabric, but the dress was not appealing.
So I cut a chunk out of the middle, added ric rac, pockets and vintage buttons

Crappy self timed pic without my head!

Tiny bit more detail on my blog www.lazyseamstress. blogspot.com

Thanks for looking.  Smiley

Love it! I always think of ric rac as something for children, but this proves it works for adults too Smiley

I would never have thought of using rickrack on that skirt, but it is so perfect! Great that you found a reuse for that terrific fabric.
