Could you put a link to the gallery in the first page of the swap thread? I had a bit of a hard time finding this.

Okay, I'm posting pics for bookstorebabe.
So here are the goodies I sent her.
WARNING: I have gone pic crazy.

Shakespeare Book Box

Close-Up of front (I was thrilled how this turned out.  It was my first real woodburning project)

Inside of Box

Close-up of inside

The Spot Bag (I was inspired by a similar item at Globe gift shop)

Details of stitching on Spot Bag

A Midsummer Night's Dream Scarf (This scarf reminds me of the play so I had to make it though I worried it was not literal enough of a craft translation.)

How the scarf looks on

Neck Detail of Scarf

And finally, A book of The Complete Works of Shakespeare with Bookmarks

Close-up of bookmarks

The scarf is rather easy to make (mostly time consuming).
I was inspired by this post http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=51065.0.

I used JoAnn Sensation Rainbow Classic, a bulky yarn, for the vine and leaves.  For the flowers, I used various colors of Babysoft, a sportweight yarn.  I spool-knitted the "vine" and crocheted the leaves and flowers.  The leaf pattern and some of the flower patterns can be found on inspiration post.  I did use some different flower patterns that I found in books.  After all the elements were completed, I just laid out the leaves and flowers in a pleasing arrangement, and then sewed them onto the vine.

That's a pretty lame tut.  But really you can't go wrong.  You can use any colors you and flower/leaf patterns you like.

Ah,thanks! I kept finding words to use for the magnets, and couldn't stop! I think it's funny we each sent the other a book and bookmark. Cheesy And I want everybody to know I didn't paint the little wooden box-someone had already painted it-I found it at the thrift store and had to rescue it. I just decorated the top.I wanted to recipe box to look like something one of the wyrd sisters would have herself. The "recipe" is copied from my Shakespeare shirt.
That was the first time I've done an altered book. The first page with the heart has a fortune about how" the time is right for a friendly chat to lead to romance."
I'm glad you like your stuff. It was fun making things for you. You were an awesome swapper!

That altered book is fabulous!!! Cheesy  I love the Bottom glassware, too.

However, I must cringe at the West Side Story/R+J book!  That's the same one we had to read in 9th grade!  Sad

I spent a lot of time on it, and loved every minute. I couldn't quite bring myself to use a real book, but the blank one worked okay. I put bronze paint over the black cover, and used crumpled plastic wrap to daub all over. And I cut a ton of pages out to make room for the added thickness, and I should have cut out more.
I'm going to make another one sometime. I've accumulated enough paper scraps to fill a couple of small zippered plastic blanket bags! I hope you try one yourself-it's addictive!

"However, I must cringe at the West Side Story/R+J book!  That's the same one we had to read in 9th grade!  Sad"
I know what you mean-it was 10th grade Macbeth for me-that class ruined shakespeare for me for years! But I found the double book at Half Price Books, and it was quirky enough I had to pick it up. Did the teacher make you compare the two?

Love the woodburned Shakespeare box, wisted the Vines scarf, and drooled over the altered book! This is such a great swap so far - and my amazing partner is totally going to up the ante!!

OMG, astormorray!!!  Shocked This is probably the best swap ever. I can't even express how much I LOOOOOVE everything you made!!! The Midsummer Night's Dream tote - a true work of art and will begin to be put into use tomorrow. Is that the one you were worried about?  Grin Cause really - I can't even tell you how clever I think it is - the details are perfection. I love how each of the trees are different! And little Beatrice is adorable! I never would have thought to make a doll. I can't wait to show her to my bff- she's going to be so jealous! Hehe.  Cheesy Now, I know you aren't a big R&J fan, but you'd never know it with all the detail you put into that cuff. I can't wait until I have a day that I don't work so I can wear it! The extra goodies were perfect too - i looooove maps AND handmade papers and the thoughtfulness of giving me the extra fairy wings was so sweet!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!

Okay, here's a better comparison for you-Gilligan's Island and the tempest-"the weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed..."Any better?
Anybody here remember when they really did a musical version of Shakespeare on Gilligan? I can still sing that!

I guess I'd better post the pictures.   Grin  Yeah, the bag had me worried (because it's a recycled wool sweater it has something of an odd flare at the bottom) but so did the arms/neck of the doll.  It's not easy to knit in three directions at once!

Midsummer Night's Dream tote bag.  Made from a sweater, embroidered trees, then felted, then some leaves added, and figures, and a moon.  And the flower!  It was not quite done when the picture was taking, and the shiny black lacing extended around the whole base when finished.

front of bag, Puck with flower.

bag lining.  Isn't this fabric wonderful?  I saw it and knew it had to be!

Emma Thompson Beatrice doll (Much Ado About Nothing)  Knit with removable costume.

And all her clothes come off in case lariarocket has any desire to make clothes for other Emma Thompson roles.  Wink

Finally, a Romeo and Juliet wrist cuff

It's just the first five scenes or so, well, the 2nd-5th, I believe.  I'm most proud of the nurse and Juliet's wedding dress.

Grin I received from lariarocket today!

everything.

I love this.  I've moved them into my crafting area, with all my other supplies.  Unfortunately, the toad got away from lariarocket, and that one is empty. My favorite is the frogs toes!  The little frame behind is an embellished copy of the  witches' recipe.

And my daughter loved them too.  She actually did manage to get them all in her arms at once, but the picture wasn't so good...

The workmanship on this is seriously serious.  It's a knock out.  Plus, a magnet clasp! Cheesy
It serves to remind one of the time one's wasting.  Wink

And finally the book.  It's really a box.  It's really amazing.  So, it's got the forest on the back, and beautiful writing up the side, and then inside:

It's the ghost at the banquet scene!
