sixblueirises: I got the fabric on clearance at Fabricland, a local Fabric store here in NJ. It was, I think, $3.50/yard and I bought most of what they had left.

Oh, sewing with clearance fabric is the best!  It really does make you feel like you're saving even more money by sewing yourself.   I think the material is just right for this dress.  The print might be a bit large for some styles, but it is perfect for this.  You did a really nice job on this.
