So for the octo swap, my partner asked for a plush.  That's something I can totally do! But I didn't want to stick to my regular style, so I came up with this.

Absolutely, positively inspired by deelind's octos, especially this one.

I used that fabric because there are parts that look kind of

I don't know if you can tell from these pictures but I did a little bit of (god, what did crafty_dame call it...) needle sculpting?  I'm not sure if that's what it is, anyway, I made little dimples and they eyebrow looking thing by running some thread from near the top of his head, down around the eyes and pulling it tight.  I made lots of changes as I was going, tweaking all kinds of things.  I didn't like him until the very last second when I took pictures, then he kind of stole my heart!

ETA: for a sense of size, he's probably over 2 feet tall!  See the link below...

He's already being [url=http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=231622.msg2561915#msg2561915]loved by his new owner

This is pretty awesome, the texture of the fabric is so under the sea and the colors are great. I love the way you did his eyes with this slit to show his button eye through the felt. Very neat. The needle sculpting is great also, his eyebrows made him look so bad, in a good way Cheesy

ETA: I just clicked on the "here with his new owner" link and Oh my god, he's HUGE!!! It's amazing, he could eat that child if he was alive! That's got to be the coolest play thing ever!

Hey Fiber People: I am very interested in personal swaps for painted/dyed roving or top. I can swap supplies or crafted items. Let's talk!

He really is the coolest plush I have seen in a long time!  I'm in love with his eyes- they give him so much personality! Grin   His dimples and brow make him look very stern, but those eyes...  They just look like he's an old soul!  LOL!

I think I'm reading too much into him!   Grin

That made me snort!  My DD is having the best time with him!  She's is making him wave all his tentacles at me, and periodically picks him up and dances around!  LOL!

BEST.

TOY.
