I have a story for everything. My boyfriend gave me yarn and crochet hooks for Christmas.  Grin
So, I decided for Valentine's Day I'd make him an octopus from PepperKitty's tutorial, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=114316.msg1092363;topicseen#msg1092363.
Then, on February 13th. He broke up with me.  Cry
So, I gave the octopus I spent a week slaving over to my friend Larke. Tongue She appreciates it more anyways.
Enough story! On to the octopus!

He gets points for buying me pretty yarn.

I thought it would be a boy, so I named it Maurice.

But after I finished it looked like a girl, so I gave it a little pink bow. Her name was still Maurice.

Back! I think Larke named her Laurel? One of her legs ended up being sewn a little bit below the other seven, so she looks a little gimpy. Can you tell?

boys suck! Angry (I realize i'm saying that and I have a boyfriend...but it's true...sorry Mike!) I'm sure he's regretting breaking up with a lovely girl like you.  I love your Octopus!  The colors are so much fun.  And no, you can't tell a leg was put on a bit lower.  She's lovely! Smiley

The yarn looks great on her, as does the bow. Is that one kind of yarn, or did you switch to make the pink pattern. If it was organic, what a great surprise!  I love her eyes, too. (personally, I think Maurice is an awesome girl octopus name, but that's just me.)
btw-you should send him a pic of Maurice to torture him with another cute girl he let slip through his fingers! Wink

Oh dear.  I'm making an octopus for my beloved.  A bad sign of things to come?  In any case, your ex is a cad, and your octopus is lovely!  Very bright and happy and totally undeserving of a life with your ex  Smiley

No, the yarn he gave me was one skein, but about three different colors: pink fading to purple fading to blue. It's Red Heart something, but I've misplaced the label (which I know I kept, it had a scarf pattern on the back  Undecided). I have about half a skein left.  Smiley
