I also have a possibly silly question - Does any one have any recomendations as to the best glue/sticky stuff to use to attach things to the outside of the tin? I do have a small selection of glues but I wanted to ask the experts.

Also is it best to varnish/seal the tin afterwards, and if so - with what?

I do have some ideas what to use but I thought it best to check.

I use Mod Podge (matte finish, not glossy, which is sticky) to attach the papers and seal the tin. If I glue any metal pieces on, I use E6000 glue.

The glossy Mod Podge is sticky but the matte isn't? Interesting. There's also a specifically-for-paper Mod Podge. Do you use that one?

It has been my experience that the glossy is always a little sticky, but the matte seems to dry hard if you let it sit long enough. I haven't seen the just-for-paper Mod Podge. I'll have to look for that, as that's pretty much all I use it for.

Wouldn't that be something.  Cheesy

I'd love to get a big fat tin full of vacuum packed goodies!
