so, i got a boost of energy this evening and had a hankerin' to sew some baby shoes for my baby to be....i searched the internets for a pattern and this is the one i ended up using....
http://www.michaelmillerfabrics.com/blog/cloth_shoe.pdf

i used leather and some cute owlie fabric i had in my stash...i think they turned out well!
i might have to redo the elastic to make it more elasticy...so they will stay up on Speck's footsies!
i think that i will also buy some leather lacing and add it to the all leather shoes so that they look like sheepskin slippers...like papa has!

anyhow, heres a pic!

i love them!
thanks for lookin!

These are adorable and will look totally fabulous on your itty-bitty baby when it arrives Cheesy I love the contrast of the leather with the owly print but I really like the all leather ones too. What a lucky baby. Thanks very much for the pattern link as well, I think I might try some for my niecey. Smiley They look great Cheesy

i think it would be fun to add appliques to the leather as well......you would be the master at that!

on a side note: i found a cute pair of black ones that are all pirate-y....so cute! i need to go get more leather in more colors....i only have the burnt orange-brown.....

very cute shoes!

It's also very funny that you call the baby Speck.... my friend's fetus is called Smudge or Smudgey

and also "huge jerk" for not cooperating with the ultrasound
