I attend a pirates and faeries event every year and this year i was in charge of the faerie tea party and an in honour of the movie i decided to do a mad hatter themed one.

I made my skull and heart costume from some fabric i found in the quilting section about 2 years ago.  I have re purposed it a few times as a mobster, a viking and the best so far: The Mad Hatress  I used Simplicity pattern 3629, and made it fully reversible with lining that is black with silver bones.

My photos of the costume are all in action, but i think you get the idea and there are a few good ones of the others in the tea party.

Here is Alice the Mad Hatress (me) and the red queen

Me madly trying to unwrap items for the tea party - 'I'm late, i'm late!"

And the Miss march Bunny and the Hatress again, (all of the teapots have tags that say 'Drink Me'):

Me taking a break from doing the tea service:

And Just for fun here are a few photos of the other people at the tea party and their amazing costumes:

We had a white queen and an Alice:

The Caterpillar:

No tea party is complete without 'eat me' cupcakes:

The most amazing hat ever!

Hope you enjoy, let me know what you think!!

I want friends who do cool stuff like this. The costumes are all fab! Love all the little details, like the "eat me" cupcakes. Very fun.
