Hello everyone !
As Promised here is the tute for My Convertable sleeve top/dress... Also it comes with the nagging Question "Is is Cat heads or Owls?" Myself and fellow craftster Haute.Tamale both have this fabric ( check out what she did w/hers ..its very cool...
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=230613.0 anyway .. A question was posses in her thread that I ran into as well .. what exactly is this print of .. I snatched mine up thinking Owls .. then got to the register and my bf said thats cool Cat head fabric .. and as I recall Haute.tamale got hers thinking cats head and her roomate thought the looked like owls . lol any way just for fun what is your first impression Cats or Owls ? either way I Love the fabric ..
I also did a recon w/ this fabric that is based around a cat theem . because at that time the bf had me convinced it was cats lol .. any way ill add it to this thread when I get the cance to take pics

OK now for the directions
first make the torso .. measure below bust and then again at hips ( or desired legnth
you will get a shape like this
( an a shaped "tube top "
)

Next make your sleeves .. cut 2 rectangles that are 11 inches wide by 22 inches long ..
at this point hem both long sides of each rectangle ...
you will also need to make 2 very skinny rectangle shapes that are 11 inches long .. by about 1 and 1/2 inches wide

find the center of the rectangle and lay your "skinny rectangle directly along it ..and pin in place . at this point mark the center of the skinny rectangle w/a line
now sew down both sides of the "skinny rectangle " and down the line you marked
like this ..
I'm pointing to the 3 lines

now you have completed the drawstring tunnel .. do this to both big rectangles
now it is time to make the "sleeves"
simply fold the "big rectangle in half "pretty sides" together . making sure your center drawstring line is in the very top middle
.
then along one side pin approx. 4 and one half inches ( take your measurements to make sure ( just don't make the arm hole "too snugg")
sew where you just pined

do this to both rectangles and you have your sleeves ..
now on your torso piece .. find the center back and mark .
then find the center front and Mark about 2 inches to one side of that
( at this point I added the grommet tape for an extra touch )
now its time to attach the sleeves
find the side seam and begin to pin there at the "armpit seam of the sleeve "
in the back pin to the the center line you had marked and the front to the line you also marked ( don't worry about the excess at this point
pin pleat the front like so .. and then sew

to make the entire rectangle fit
do this to both sides .. and you are almost done
now to address the back
either over lap like the front or ....
turn it inside out and pin the gap closed .. however high up you choose .. then sew and trim off the excess ..
I then finished mine with a simple band /tube for the bottom binding ..
add your drawstring ties and WA LA !
OMG that was alot of pics and directions .. i hope it made since .. please feel free to ask any questions you may have..
also as always I love comments !
HAVE A GREAT NIGHT/DAY
