Don't make me come over there!

Well, I made this last summer but I'm just now realizing I never posted it and wanted some feedback.  I sang at my brother-in-law and sister-in-law's wedding and as a gift they gave me a gift cert to a local quilt shop. I bought the fabric and the book and decided to dive right in.

I worked for 3 days, 13 hours each day...plus a bit before that to do some of the fabric cutting.

What do you think?? It's machine quilted with loops, squiggles, and stars.

Here it is!  Hanging from my  mantle. Smiley

Nice gift.   Too bad I can't sing.

I love the quilt.  Great colors and all your lines match up.  Mine rarely do.

Did you do the machine quilting yourself, or did you have it done?  I was wondering because I was wanting to know about how much it was.  I like to sew big quilts, but they never actually get quilted.

nice JOB

Boy, that picture turned out really pixellated, didn't it?

I did the quilting myself, but the shop I went to to get the fabric etc...I think charged 100 bucks for the quilting and 150 if you wanted both the back put on and the quilting done.

I did it myself because I wanted to prove I could do it. My mom bought me a quilting machine last year for Christmas and I figured it was only fair for me to actually use it for what it was supposed to be for instead of just Jordy bags. LOL

Thanks for the compliments!

Thanks!  I broke the freehand foot or whatever that one you quilt with is called... tried to go too fast and the needle sewed through the hoopy part of the foot...

Now I need to order another one, but since I won't be doing another quilt anytime soon...I can stand to wait Smiley

the quilting is swirls, loops, squiggles, and stars.
