I have to say you inspired me to try to make some felt rocks the other day. It was such hard work though, and I finally got there. The fuzzier the yarn the better! I gotta say my poor hands were nearly rubbed raw and the neighbours must have been wondering why I was using the washing machine for hours in the wee hours of the night  Grin But, I have some nice pastelly rocks that I may use for beads...

Cheesy    Can we see your rocks?  (why does that sound so strange?)

When I was doing them by hand I used rubber gloves most of the time.  Except for that one time when I accidentally sloshed boiling water over my hand.  (yes.  it really really really really really hurt).

I think it's nearly time for me to start another one of these...

How cool is that?  I love it.  What a lucky friend.  One can never have enough rugs.

Wow that is really cool.  It seems like it would act like a foot massager as well.  It looks like a rock garden!

Absolutely gorgeous.  I'm so inspired.  Found this after searching on-line for the amazing felt bead rug that Anthropologie is currently selling.  I looked through this whole thread hoping to see pictures of the next one you were going to make, but there are none.  I'm so bummed.  Would also love to know what the gift-ee thought of her fabulous rug.
