PET stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate, but that type of plastic is coded with a #1 for recycing.
6 plastics are PS (polystyrene).  (Wikipedia may help clarify this issue: Recycling codes for Plastics)

Your designs are very cute!  With or without the streaks, good job!!!

My mom was just telling me about this.  So you just have to sand the 6 plastic before coloring it?  Then it just goes into the oven, like normal shrink-dink plastics?  I'd really like to try my hand at this craft!
