I finally got around to making something from a pattern from the BurdaStyle site. Two somethings, in fact. I made a top and a dress from the Anda dress pattern: http://www.burdastyle.com/patterns/show/29.

The dress is made from a fabric remnant I bought at Ikea for £1 that had been sitting in my sewing box for far too long. It's kind of a rough fabric, seems like a canvassy type stuff, with a crazy print that involves cows. I made the dress in a couple of hours before going out so it's a little shoddy and I put in elastic instead of using a drawstring like the pattern says to save time. It looks a little odd on its own, but paired with my super awesome belt I'm really pleased with it.

The top is black cotton drill and pink and black zebra print elastic I found on eBay for cheaps. I shortened the pattern and decided that putting the elastic on the outside would look interesting. I've been thinking about making a matching skirt so I can wear them together and it'll look like a little ra-ra dress. (Sorry for the blurry pho-tays.)

Omg! Those are both absolutely amazing  Cheesy

I love the fabric of the first dress. Is it awkward with it being so rough?

That first fabric is amazing!  I keep meaning to check out the fabric at Ikea, but I never find it on clearance!

Thanks so much you guys! It's nice to know that there are other people who don't think I'm a mental for making these things.

Is it awkward with it being so rough?

It's not too bad, though if I was making it all over again I'd probably go for some sort of bias binding and maybe a casing for the elastic.

Thanks again for the comments. Cheesy
