Fiber of the Month Swap (March)

ok, I got my picts....
It stared as "hey, come over and lets play with fiber and my drum carder" and turned into "Here, amuse the kids while I get the last of this carded....." but seriously, how can you deny this cute cute face?

te hee, that's my 7 month old son sitting in the pile of fiber nicolassa had brought over for me. I did most of the carding because there is a bit of a learning curve with my carder and we just didn't have time. Maybe next time we meet up on a saturday....
Here is what I ended up with:

Six oz of wool (what kind of wool was it?) and some bamboo. It's going to be a bike riding scarf for my husband "Loud enough that everyone can see him and not hit him". I think we win.
I also got some other wool that I didn't photograph.
And here is the two of us with the merino I dyed for nicolassa.

For the record, I'm on your left with the purple hair.

There is no denying that cute face!!  Resistance is futile!

So I had an awesome time over at laminathegreat's place doing our swappy swap.  She did all the work while I just sat back and cuddled a kiddo or two!  Most of the fiber I brought over was Border Leicester from Homestead Wool and Gift Farm (yay, rescue farm!), and it's pretty soft for that breed.  It was the most neon fiber I had.   

In return, she gave me this lovely, lovely supersoft handdyed merino:

She also gave me a bag of red firestar!  But...uh...I can't seem to find it.

Because, seriously, it is imperative to wear fiber on your head as often as possible.

I received form Raynbow yesterday!
tons of sparkles in blue, navy, rainbowish and some awesome tinsel.
4 kick butt batts with superwash merino, angelina, firestar and glitz.
in blues, purple and pink!

i can't wait to spin these up!

I received my Fiber of the Month package from ivycircle several days ago, but my husband's been out of town with the camera.  Since they've just both returned, I'm just now posting pictures.



Ivycircle sent me a total of 8oz of raw fiber so I can play!  She sent 4oz of bamboo (which is great.. I've yet to spin bamboo and I've been feeling a bit left out, so this is perfect!), 2oz of honey colored mohair and 2oz of beautiful, yummy tussah silk.  I'm so excited!  Thanks, ivycircle!

Three gorgeous batts made from domestic wool, mohair, cotswold, angelina, and firestar in a "feral forest" colorway (green is my most favorite color!). They are way prettier in person, with lots of rich and bright shades of green and a few other colors. I also got a bag full of matching locks & sparkle.

From LUBEE, I got:

A beautiful batt with bright colored wools & sparkle on the top, and natural grey & brown alpaca on the bottom. I am a big fan of bright & natural colors mixed together. And a pretty purplish batt and a GIANT bag of naturally colored alpaca that I can't wait to dive into.

Yay! I am so pleased with what I got - I feel like both my partners put a lot of effort into putting together stuff that I like! I tried to do the same - I hope you guys both love what I sent you!
